Iron Treads - Privacy Policy
Iron Treads is a single-player arcade tank-defense game. It has no account, no login, no chat, no in-app purchases and no analytics of its own. The only data processing in the game comes from the advertising network that serves the short interstitial advertisements shown at some round-result and defeat screens. This page explains what that involves and the choices you have.
1. Data the game itself stores
Your scores, round checkpoint, unlocked modes, records, options (sound, haptics, controls, graphics quality) and the two counters that decide when the next advertisement break may occur are saved on your device only, in the game's own storage. They never leave the device and are deleted when you uninstall the game.
2. Advertising (Google AdMob with Unity Ads)
Interstitial advertisements are served through Google AdMob (the Google Mobile Ads SDK). An advertisement may be requested after every third round you clear and after every third run you lose; it is shown only on the result or defeat screen, never during combat. The SDK may pre-load the next advertisement in the background so it is ready at that moment. Through AdMob mediation, Unity Ads (Unity Technologies) may also bid to serve that advertisement; no other advertising network is used.
To serve, deliver and measure ads, Google and, when it serves the ad, Unity may collect:
| Data | Purpose |
|---|---|
| Vendor identifier (IDFV) on iOS; Google Advertising ID on Android, subject to your device settings. The game never uses the IDFA on iOS - see section 3. | Ad frequency capping, fraud prevention and, where you have consented, personalised ads |
| IP address and coarse location derived from it | Serving ads for your region, fraud prevention |
| Device information (model, OS version, language, screen size, network type, app version) | Ad compatibility and delivery diagnostics |
| Ad interaction data (requests, impressions, taps, load errors) | Delivering and measuring the advertisement and producing aggregate reports |
Google and Unity each act as an independent controller of that data. Their policies: How Google uses information from sites or apps that use our services, the Google Privacy Policy, the Unity Privacy Policy and the Unity game player and app user privacy policy.
3. Your choices
In the game
If you play from the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland, a Google consent form is shown before the first advertisement is requested. You can change your choices at any time under SETTINGS > AD PRIVACY, which appears whenever privacy options are available for your region. Declining personalised ads does not limit the game in any way.
On iOS
The game does not ask for permission under Apple's App Tracking Transparency and never reads the Identifier for Advertisers (IDFA). Advertising in the game is not used to track you across other companies' apps or websites, and the App Store privacy label reflects this. Google and Unity may use Apple's SKAdNetwork, a privacy-preserving attribution system that does not identify you.
On Android
You can reset or delete your Google Advertising ID under Settings > Google > Ads (on some devices Settings > Privacy > Ads), and turn off ad personalisation for your Google account at adssettings.google.com.
Playing offline
The game is fully playable without a network connection. Without a connection no advertisement is requested or shown.
4. Children
Iron Treads is not directed at children under 13 and carries an age rating for cartoon violence. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children; the advertising network is configured for a general audience.
5. Data retention and transfers
The game stores nothing about you on our servers - we operate none. Google and Unity retain the data described above according to their own policies and may process it in the United States and other countries under appropriate safeguards (for EU/UK users, standard contractual clauses). Uninstalling the game deletes everything it stored on your device.
6. Your rights
Depending on where you live (EU/EEA, UK, California and other US states, Brazil, and others) you may have the right to access, correct, delete or restrict processing of your personal data, to object to profiling, and to opt out of the sale or sharing of your data. Because we hold no data ourselves, requests about advertising data should be directed to Google or Unity at the links above; you can also exercise the choices described in section 3 directly. We do not sell personal information or share it for cross-context behavioural advertising. For anything else, contact us below.
7. Changes
We will post any changes to this page and update the effective date. Material changes will also be noted in the game's release notes.
